In 2010 Danny Horton died of a brain tumour, aged 36. Danny's Dash is his family's way of remembering him, and raising money to help fund research into Brain Tumours.
The event is organised by Danny's family and friends, and all proceeds are donated to Brain Tumour Research and Help for Heroes. Since the first event in 2012, the event has donated over £10,000 to charity thanks to the generosity of runners and supporters.
The 8 mile course is hilly, scenic and almost entirely off road.
With a new venue for 2016, the route will be slightly different this year - a map will be released later in the year.
The Diddy Dash junior course will be around 1km in distance and will also be off road.
Rewards and prizes
All runners receive a large Desperate Dan pie, and a bottle of ale or cider.
Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 men and women
Age group awards will be given
The top 3 teams will each receive a hamper.
To qualify, all 4 runners in a team must be wearing the same kit, and all gather at the finish line together. If one of your team members wanders off to the loo, and another team gets assembled first you're bang out of luck!
